Feng Shui (pronounced Fung Shway) is an ancient Chinese art. It encourages you to use tools such as proper furniture alignment, remedies, colors, and intention, to promote a supportive energy flow through personal spaces.
The 7 Chakras are the energy centers in your body in which energy flows. You can do many different things to keep them open and flowing.
Blocked energy in either your home or your 7 Chakras can often lead to misalignment in life such as dis-ease or mis-understandings with others. One tool I use each and every week and whenever I need a shift, is my 7 Minute Manifesto Method!
Following, you will be given a 7 step process (1 step for each of the 7 chakras); an affirmation to speak or think silently, a visualization to imagine, and finally an action step on what to do. If you simply allow 1 minute to do a little “fluffing up” in your space as directed below, you will feel more grounded, centered, and at peace, and your space will feel vibrantly clear! Don’t forget to breathe and make it FUN!
Chakra #1: Root Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am grounded into the earth, and I am rooted, stable, and strong.
VISUALIZE: A bright red light shooting down from your root chakra at the base of your spine, connecting deep in to mother earth.
WHAT TO DO: There is no better way to get grounded than to kick off your shoes and let your bare feet hit the ground! Remove any debris off of the floor by giving your floor a quick sweep or mop. The sense associated with the root chakra is smell, so spray a little fragrance around the room. I recommend lavender for relaxation, rose essence for love, and cedar or frankincense for clearing.
Chakra #2: Sacral Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am creative and embrace my sensuality. I feel into life with joy.
VISUALIZE: Bring your attention to your lower abdomen, and see a beautiful orange color from within, spinning and expanding outward.
WHAT TO DO: Do a quick sweep of the most intimate place, the bedroom. (If you are in a studio, focus on the immediate area surrounding your bed). Fluff your pillows, let fresh air in, and clear things from under the bed. (*If you are Feng Shui aware, you will have little or no items under the bed. If you are not this may take more a bit more time the first time). Finally, straighten up and/or rearrange any art work you might have.
Chakra #3: Solar Plexus Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am confident and embrace my strong will to act. I stand in my power place, and own what is mine.
VISUALIZE: Vision a bright yellow light swirling around in your upper abdomen.
WHAT TO DO: The sense of this chakra is sight, so take a quick minute to ensure your space is one you enjoy looking at. Put away clutter and items that are left out. Wipe down counter tops, or dust off shelves. Do what you have to do to beautify your space.
Chakra #4: Heart Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am compassionate, connected, and it is easy for me to trust. I am love.
VISUALIZE: Imagine a bright emerald-green light radiating from your heart center, sending love out, and receiving love in.
WHAT TO DO: The element of the heart chakra is air, so bring your attention to the biggest inlet of air that our life force is carried by … the front door. Shake out the door mat if you have one, sweep the threshold, and make sure there is nothing behind your front door to maximize the love and energy coming in. If you have time, open your windows, let air in, and water any plants and flowers that bring oxygen in your space. I also like to burn some sage or incense and let it fill the air with it’s cleansing love.
Chakra #5: Throat Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am a channel of communication. I easily express myself and speak my truth.
VISUALIZE: Imagine a beautiful blue color around your throat area, and spreading up to your ears.
WHAT TO DO: Select music, nature sounds, water sounds, or maybe even chimes you would like to hear. Let that music play out loud and fill your space with a sound you love. If you have wind chimes hanging, take a moment to clean them.
Chakra #6: Third Eye Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am a visionary and I clearly see all that is presenting itself to me.
VISUALIZE: Imagine a beautiful indigo color pushing out the front, back, and all sides of this area between your brows.
WHAT TO DO: The element of the third eye is light. Ensure all lights and light bulbs in your space are all working and that your spaces are well-lit. This is a good time to check in, and take note if you need more lights in certain areas.
Chakra #7: Crown Chakra
AFFIRMATION: I am fully connected and receive infinite wisdom from all that is.
VISUALIZE: See in your mind’s eye a gorgeous violet color around your crown chakra, at the top of your head.
WHAT TO DO: Give your “self-cultivation and knowledge area” of your space or home a little love (from the entrance, the lower left area on the bagua map). Be sure that books and learning materials kept there are supportive of your inner knowing and path of growth. Throw out old books, magazines and prior days newspapers.
It may take you longer than 1 minute. If you have the extra time, wonderful! If not, do the 7 minutes, because there will come a time where the 7 will turn to several. Print this out and keep it with you so you can remember your affirmation to repeat, what to visualize, and know what action to take. Play with it and have fun. I love to send the color I am visualizing into what I am doing, and then sing the affirmation! No matter the way you do it, your perception will shift; mine does every time!
Please feel welcome to share how this has helped you, and as always, I am happy to answer any questions! Be well, be love, and have fun fluffing in manifesto!
